Animal Ark Adventure This activity is based upon two Scriptures: "And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee." —Genesis 6:19 “...walk as children of light.” —Ephesians 5:8 Any number of children can participate in this activity. It is very similar to "Pin the Tail on the Donkey," but in this activity, there is a valuable lesson to be learned. Click on the picture to access the poster file of Noah's Ark. Print this poster to an 11" x 17" or larger size on white paper. For a larger size poster, Walmart, FedEx Kinkos, Office Max and similar printing services offer oversized prints in black and white and color at fairly reasonable prices. Tape the poster to the wall at a height that is about shoulder level for the children. Each child is to take an animal sticker of their choice. Taking turns, blindfold one of the children in the group at a time. Turn the blindfolded child around two times, and face him or her about six feet away and in the direction of the poster. While blindfolded, have the child attempt to place the animal sticker on the door of the ark. He or she will most likely be unable to find the door. The other children can help by saying "higher, lower, right, left...." Next, take the blindfold off, and have the child place the animal sticker in the doorway. Move on to the next child, and so on... When the activity is finished, have a discussion with the children asking them why they think they could not find the door. They will probably state that they could not see. Point out how important it is that, to know where we are going, we need to walk in the light and not blindly. If we walk in the light, and keep our eyes open, we will find the way to God's protection. Explain that walking in the light means that we study God's Word to know how to live our lives and be good examples to others.
