Lessons drawn from the beautiful character of Mary and her special gift to Jesus have blessed the church throughout its history. Children can benefit, too, by learning of her devotion in the face of opposition, her faithful zeal, sensitivity to the needs of others and her selfless act of kindness to Jesus. We recommend reading the Scripture citations thoroughly together with the children, and then involving them in the discussion points—drawing out further character lessons which can be applied to their own lives.
